1999 Mercury Mountaineer V8 5.0L, my catalytic converter turns red then my truck loses fuel pressure!

I doubt the code has anything to do with the Catalytic Converter getting hot. Leaking fuel injectors or bad spark plugs could cause the Catalytic Converter to get too hot.
