Check Engine code P0171 and issue, best way to fix it?

Check engine light came on - read the diagnostic code: P0171, seems connected with the fuel, filled the tank the other day and car would not start afterward. Eventually came around by pumping the gas and has been running fine since. Otherwise no obvious issues.

This code is for a lean fuel mixture, which is odd because the issue with restarting after filling the tank is normally a purge control solenoid valve sticking open on the car. It lets the vapors from the tank into the intake and floods the engine. This is why you have trouble starting the car. As for the code, since the car is running normally otherwise, I suspect the front O2 senosr to be the problem.
