I have a 2013 Chrysler 200 and the check engine came on all of a sudden. So I took it to advanced auto and they plugged there machine up to my car and he said it has a P0456 error which is a small leak of some kind. So I'm just wondering what I should do to resolve this problem I have read some articles that people have posted and some have gotten a smoke test to see if any hoses has leaks. Please let me know what the best thing would be to do don't have much money to be jerked in different directions of what to do.

Hi there,

I would start by checking the gas cap. Make sure the rubber seal is in good condition and that it's tight. If not, then replace the cap. If it's good, then the smoke test is the most effective way to locate the leak. We are talking about a hole the size of a pin head causing this code. So it's best to pay for the smoke test, get a proper diagnosis and then repair. In the long run it will save you money.
