Since my cadillac Escalade had a dead battery and would not start, I had the vehicle towed. the towing company lifted the suv by the rear and towed it approximately 15 miles to the dealer with the front wheels on the ground.
The Mechanic who diagnosed it, indicated that code P 1626 could be a possible result of the towing with the front wheels on the ground and that it should have been towed on the flat bed of the tow truck.
Could this be the cause that my dash light shows "service 4 wheel drive"?
He referred me to another dealer where I've been quoted $150.00 to re-diagnose it again.
Vehicle: 2000 Cadillac Escalade, v-8

P1626 Anti theft deterent enabled

This code is a no start code condition, usually caused by worn out key , unless the engine is started and the vehicle is driven can this be properly diagnosed, what happens when the vehicle was towed as the tow truck made turns, and stops there was no brake signal input and no steering input, This is where the code was set, And yes this code was caused when the vehicle was towed, there is a class 2 connection that goes from the transfer case module, and the pass lock module, If you clear the code and they go into history, it should be fine.
