What do these codes mean P0700,P1776, P0841, P0440 and P0441?

My son\'s car has been getting stuck in 2nd gear and not shifting to a higher gear. He was getting codes P0700,P1776, P0841, P0440 and P0441. A new valve body was put in the car, that did not work. Went to another mechanic, he put in a relay that cleared the P1776 and P0841. That also did not work. The car was still acting the same after a day or so. We took it back to same mechanic and now its getting codes P0700, P0440 and P0441.

This same problem initially blew his motor out. We\\'ve since put in a used motor and that part seems to be fine now. But it still seems to get stuck in second gear. We don\'t need it to blow this motor out too. Maybe junk the car! We are at our wits end!
