Is the Air Fuel Ratio sensor on the 2006 Nissan altima the same as the o2 sensors?

Or are they in addition to the o2 sensors? Is it possible I may need my ecm reprogrammed?

The air fuel  ratio sensor is commonly referred to as a 02 sensor, the difference is the 02 sensor is a narrow band which is slow moving and slow updating, As for the air fuel  ratio sensor this is wide band which is fast updating  If you set a P1148 this is the closed loop control, and a P0031 this is A/F sensor heater , the  A / F sensor is fused protected, , check the fuse , and check to make sure it has  power, it would be listed in the engine fuse use the  box cover as map for  fuse 46 which is a 15 amp fuse.
