Why is the speedometer not working

My 2001 bmw 530i the speedometer stops working it stalls out at timesome my carMD code reader gives me the code po103 what should I do

This code,P0103 is for the mass air flow sensor and has nothing to do with the speedometer. With a speedometer issue like this you need to have a scan tool that can read the live data. Since you don't have a code for the speed sensor, it's likely the issue is the speedometer in the instrument cluster itself causing the problem.
