Hello,
I have had issues with the check engine light on my pilot 2004 for over four years.  Everytime I take my car for smog check it does not pass because this problem.  The first time the mechanic changed the fuel cap and reset the light.  I got the smog check certificate.  The light came back within a month.  The next year the mechanic said we needed a new fuel tank neck and pipe so he changed. Got the certificate after he reset the check engine light but it came back about a month later.  I don't know what else to do as mechanics are not really fixing the issue.  I don't want to keep spending money with mechanics who don't fix the actual issue.  I need help please advise.

Hi there

This code is for a leak in the evap emissions system.

You need to locate a shop that has a smoke machine. They can put smoke into the evap system and find the leak and fix it once and for all. If your shop is using a smoke machine, then the system seems to be failing a little at a time. I suspect they are taking a best guess approach. Also, if the pressure sensor is faulty the code will continue to come up even if there isn't any leak in the system
