Troubleshoot 1682 jeep

Question

Jeep Cherokee Laredo with v8.  New alternator new battery both tested good.
CODE 1682.  
With the battery at a full charge it runs and drives great no problems. Code appears 10 min from being cleard.  
Advanced auto hooked up their machine and it told me that my alternator  was working but was not Distributing enough voltage the battery
My question is is there something that tells the computer how much voltage to send to the battery

Under the battery , at the battery tray is a Battery Temperature Sensor, if the BTS is no properly functioning you get low out put. voltage, You should be able just to clean it out.
