i keep getting this code , the car is hard to keep running when 1st starting, will stall sometimes at a light and is very hard to keep running after filling with gas it takes several times to get it running again. my mechanic says it's the cam or crank sensor not the purge valve but the only code i get is p0496. i took it off and cleaned it but made no difference. i don't mine replaceing it but again the mechanic says thats not the problem.could it be the sensors he's talking about? or should i just replace the valve

Hi there.

Replace the purge valve. This is what controls the fuel vapors going into the intake manifold. If it's stuck open, then essentially the car is flooding out with fuel vapors. Especially after you fill it with fuel. Replace the purge control valve and it should resolve the issue. You don't have cam or crank sensor codes, so don't waste your money on them.
