mercury montego 2005 what does error code p2544 mean?

I have searched every where for an answer. Please help me. I turned the key and the check engine light came on and auto zone cant help.

The code is for the torque management request input signal A.

There are several service bulletins for this code which include reprogramming the computer. I would contact the dealer and have the computer reflashed to see if it resolves the issue.

The symptom is hard up shifting from the transmission.
