Randomly, I stopped at red light and my car started shaking real bad and continued to shake as I was driving and my check engine light came on, I took it and got a code pulled that my cylinder 4 was misfiring. I was recommended to change my #4 spark plug which didn't work and then I replaced #4 coil pack and the problem is still occurring, I put a bottle of injection cleaner in the tank and fresh gas, engine light still remains and car still shakes, also checked for a vac leak and couldn't find anything. I had this problem a few months back but it was a mild shake and the engine light went on and off, I changed all my plugs and it seemed to make a big change. I'm hoping it's not a head gasket or anything major. I wouldn't think a spark plug, coil pack or injector would go out instantly which is how it seemed.

HI there,

It does sound possible the head gasket is the issue. Pressure test the cooling system for one hour, then remove the spark plug and take a flashlight and look into the cylinder. There would be coolant on top of the piston if it's leaking.

If it looks good, then do a compression test.

It's also a good idea if you check the injector pulse if you don't have the tool to check it a long screwdriver work as well the metal end touching the injector the plastic handle touching your ear  just try to heard for  the clicking sound and compare with any of the other 3 good injectors if is no sound

You found the source of the misfire
