I have had ongoing problem. Every six months, my camahaft sensor goes bad, and engine runs very rough. I replace the sensor, and it's fine...for about six months, then it starts happening again. Goodyear is so tired of replacing the sensor they've told me to basically go away.
What could be the underlying cause, that's making the sensors fail after a few months???
Help!

Hi there,

The main underlying issue could be the parts they are using. If they are using aftermarket parts, they are no where near as good as the factory part. The other issue cold be poor engine grounds. There are a bunch of grounds that run off the back of the engine to the firewall. If they are bad then it could be affecting the sensor ground which could cause it to fail prematurely
