I don't know what the problem is but when I shift say from 2nd to 3rd the RPMs stick at 3 or 4 thousand RPMs and even if I'm going 40mph and throw it in neutral the RPMs stay whenever they were before putting in neutal and sometimes when I hit the brakes they come down. I know it's a simple fix but what do you think it would be?

This type of problem is where  you inspect the probable cause, Staying at a high RPM, this has a idle air control valve, that can stick, You probably may help to do a throttle body cleaning
