A faulty maf sensor could cause misfires, misfires can cause O2 sensor codes. Always take care of the misfires first, the O2 sensors do have some play on the air/fuel mixture, but it's actually more common for them to tell on the engine when it's running wrong then to actually be the cause of the problem.
