I asked a question about a code p0462 and changed  my fuel level sensor and still no gas gage. I was given a answer to do a software update .Chrysler has a tab for this #18-002-07.how do I do this update.

This update was produced in 2007, what happened is the fuel pump module where replace to resolve the no fuel gauge. When this code P0462  occurs it was due to the ECM going below its required voltage, This code has been my personal fix instead of getting a PCM , there a lot more trouble in doing that , and flashing the VIN, Certain scan tool have the ability to reset the instrument panel, if that was performed and the fuel gauge was still non operational I would do a reprogram to its latest software. and fuel gauge would come back, This has work for me on customer vehicles , This does depend on how long you have this code, Anytime the CK ENG LT comes on the ECM substitute a value, As long as you have not left this code unattended for a long period of time ,it should take. Dealer or shop that can reprogram can do this
