what does vtc stuck in advanced postion mean

i put a scanner on my honda and it puleed a p1009 code and said vtc stuck in advanced position,is there a way to "un stick it"?

It possible that the valve got stuck because the engine oil is too dirty. You should start by changing the engine oil and filter and clearing the code.
