2008 Chev Impala with 3.5L engine sensor switch CODE #P1682, which sensor needs changing

Question

Yes the engine light is on now but the main problem is a knocking noise when the key isn't even in the ignition, just touch the car or just walk past it and it starts knocking! Any idea which sensor needs changing?

Hi there,

This code is for a faulty ignition switch. If the switch is shorting out that could be causing the problem. Otherwise you may have an issue with the theft control or body control module.
