Im trying to figure out why the check engine light went on my car

If there was a abnormality, the CK ENG LT would stay on. there you would be able to gather the code that is set, The CK ENG LT will come on for a brief second during startup if then go out, as long as there is not abnormality detected.. If there is a problem and the ECM detects the problem the CK ENG LT will stay on.
