I went to take in my 11 rogue and the codes written on the paper are p0101, p0720, p0744. The only two options they gave me were to get a new transmission or if i couldnt afford it, replace body valve. I chose the transmission because the place told me if I chose the cheaper 2nd option, it would just temporarily fix the issue and he doesn't know how long it would hold the problem for. He never mentioned anything about the massive air flow sensor. I got the transmission fixed and the engine light comes on again. They tell me it's the sensor and how much it would cost to fix. I felt they should fix the issue for free since they failed to mention this to me the first time. So I took the initiative to research the codes and saw the same p0101 was on the paper they told me about but because I don't know anything about cars, didn't think anything of it. They said they would not pay for the part only labor. So my question is if I would of gotten the sensor fixed instead if transmission, would it of made a difference? Or did I indeed really need both fixed?

P0101 Mass airflow sensor circuit range performance
P0720 Output speed sensor
P0744 Torque convertor
There are two code that set, P0744 the torque convertor if this was just a sensor problem there would be no output speed sensor code that would set, the ECM would already see the faulty torque convertor, because there is a output speed sensor code with a torque convertor is a internal mechanical problem with the transmission and no solenoid would resolve it, As for the MAF sensor since there is a speed sensor code , it was to you advantage the transmission was resolved first. This now confirms the MAF is separate condition
