The purpose of the CH ENG LT is to protect the catalytic convertor and the catalytic convertor is to protect the environment from harmful emission emitted from the engine. The harm you will do is emitted more emission than what is allowed. You may have two probable cause for this code to set , the downstream 02 sensor for Bank 2 Sensor 2 is non operational , or the catalytic cannot control emission just from wear and tear. Just as the brakes wear out, tire wear out, so does a catalytic convertor.
