This is exactly what happens when there is a fuel pump problem , you may have fuel pressure when starting up , But how the fuel pressure volume. , A plugged fuel filter can cause this situation, a fuel pump feed line being rupture can cause this , and so can a faulty fuel pump strainer., The way to find out is to remove and inspect the fuel pump.
