Bad o2 sensor replaced check engine light still on

Question

My 03 impala LS  check engine light comes on and off every few days it says bad 02 sensor bank 1 so I replaced it (brand new) check engine light goes of soon as I start it up but comes right back on a few days later as I'm sitting at the light  then a few days after that it goes off then a few days after that it came back on and hadn't gone off since then

Having the specific code would help determine the cause. Many times O2 sensor codes are the result of something in the engine not running right. Check the wiring for the sensor, also make sure the engine is properly tuned, if not it could throw a code for a bad sensor even when the sensor is good.
