New distributor installed and turned to correct position by mechanic. Cannot get it to pass smog. P1345 and P0401 codes still read Cam to crank correlation and EGR issues although the EGR is new.
Will replacing the timing chain fix the P1345? Big financial gamble if it doesn't work. Or just get a new crank
sensor?

P1345 Crankshaft position -camshaft position correlation

The EGR passage is plugged right at the throttle body. Just start the engine with the EGR removed , rev the RPM at let the carbon shoot out. As for P1345 you would not need to remove the timing chain , The reluctor for the CKP may have shifted out, if the crank shaft bolt was not properly torque down this would cause the CKP reluctor to shift out of position and if this was the case you would  have poor acceleration (timing would retard) You can remove the harmonic balancer and take a peek at the reluctor and you  would be able to see if it moved out of position from where the dowl is. P1345 is a code mostly with the distributor , check to see if the rotor has a lot of free movement .
