what does this statement mean: " Starter motor may be faulty"

Question

Just had the crank sensor replaced and originally thought it may be a engine starter also.  When you turned the key, you would only hear a SINGLE click sound.  Had the sensor replaced to erase the check engine light.  Is it possible i need a starter also?

When you turn the key there only a signal click sound 2 things a bad battery terminal connection , or a faulty starter.
