I can't feel any misfire and the truck seems to be pulling along just fine. I notice the engine light blink on hills, however. Does this info help narrow down the possible problems that are causing the code?

P0300 Random misfire

Yes it does, when going up a hill , there is more demand for fuel and secondary spark, sparkplug wires, sparkplugs can be leaking secondary ignition at load.

Ignition system such as the coils , sparkplug wires, and sparkplugs, should be suspected when a misfire occurs when engine load is demanded
