How do I fix a P1304 code egr calibration high

My 1999 GMC Yukon slt 2wd 5.7 vortec just coded p1304

​ Two condition would set this code condition , a faulty EGR sensor or the ground for the EGR system which comes from the VCM, It is reasonable to replace the EGR as a starting point a internal short in the EGR can go undetected during the EGR range of movement.
