i was getting a po code 507 and now i am getting p1448

Question

my car was running rough when I first start the car on mornings and mil light is on with a code p0507 making me use up a lot of gas. I cleaned the throttle body and iac but the code keep coming back. today I cleared the code  after trying an iac relearn and now I am getting a p1448. what should I do now?

Hi there,

The P1448 code is a code for the evap canister vent control valve. This should be unrelated to the prior problems you had been seeing with the car. The vent control valve is mounted to the canister under the car behind the left rear wheel. These are a pretty common failure item. You can remove it from the canister, then connect a power and ground to it. You should be able to hear it make a clicking sound when you do this and also should be able to see the plunger inside and make sure it's working properly.
