I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 and the check engine light and both VCS track lights are on and stay on while driving. What does these codes (P2238 & P2241) mean, why are the lights that I mentioned stay on and how can I resolve these issues? I have researched and questions, yet I get a bunch of different answers that are confusing. Is there a difference between the O2 sensors & Air Flow Ration Sensors? The vehicle is due to go through emissions in a few months and I would like to have these issues resolve before then.

P2238 Oxygen sensor pumping current circuit low Bank 1 Sensor 1

P2241 Oxygen sensor pumping current circuit low Bank 2 Sensor 1

Even though these are Air Fuel ratio they are commonly referred to as Oxygen sensor, the difference oxygen sensor are narrow band, Air fuel ratio sensor are wide band , the difference between the two narrow band is slow moving and react slow to fuel control, while wide band are fast moving and react quicker to fuel control . Its all about fuel control. which is fuel management. in one word Fuel Economy. The first step when dealing with a P2238 and P2241 because these are both the upstream and are fuse protected check the fuse listed as A/F heater in the engine fuse / relay box,  Most shop when they encounter both upstream A/F sensor or 02 sensor coding up at the same time would replace the relay listed as A/F heater relay located in the engine fuse / relay box.
