Is it the computer or ignition switch.

P1682 Ignition 1 switch 2

Yes it can be the ignition switch especially if you experiencing a battery drain. There is also two fuse that would have to be checked the PWR/TRN and ECM fuse, Depending on the year make and model the ECM pin has to be tested.
