How do I pinpoint the problematic or faulty part causing the error code p0826 on my 2008 Altima?

I am aware that it's a transmission issue but also I have been educated that this code has a multitude of varying causes that can trigger the code. How exactly would be able to identify the culprit that is causing the problem and what must I do in order to bring the problem to a resolution?

There are test procedure you have to perfrom, the best way is to use a factory grade scan tool in order to see what the TCM see, without this it is a shot in the dark between the problem being the mode switch to the TCM
