This means there is a leak in the EVAP system in most cases. Here is a list of the possible causes:

- Faulty EVAP Canister Vent Valve
- Faulty EVAP Canister Purge valve
- Plugged EVAP canister condition
- Faulty EVAP Pressure Sensor
- EVAP Canister Vent Valve harness is open or shorted
- EVAP Canister Vent Valve circuit poor electrical connection

Generally the best method for diagnosing this problem is a smoke test. This will locate the leak on the system, then to save some money you can perform the repair on your own. One thing that isn't listed here could be the gas cap. This you may want to try first before testing the other components.
