Question

When I shift drive shift lever to drive and press on the gas the car will not engage into drive and go. The engine just races. Problem occurred recently. But overnight the car must have fixed itself because the next morning it worked fine. The check engine light was on briefly but it soon went off by itself. How serious is this?

This condition that occurred would be intermittent, be  on the safe side, check the transmission fluid level which should be done a regular interval. You should also verify the condition by checking for any pending code that may have set, this would pin point the problem
