if changing the camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor doesn't fix the problem

I have changed both sensors and check engine light is back on and is still giving me a p0340 code.what else could be wrong?

Hi there,

This engine has 2 cam position sensors and one crank sensor. P0340 is for the cam sensor located on bank 1 which is the bank closest to the firewall. If this wasn't replaced then it's the problem. If it was replaced then the wiring has to be checked.
