I replace a camshaft sensor and checked the wire connection still will not start what should i do next? also ran several scan only code is p0340

P0340 Camshaft position sensor A circuit malfunction

The timing belt has to be ruled out, The engine will still have spark and fuel pump operation, due to the CKP being turned by using the crankshaft, if the timing belt has failed it will set a P0340 without a engine start.
