I have a '96 Oldsmobile Ciera. I am getting a OBDII code of P1870. It says manufacturer control. What does this mean? How can I fix it?
Vehicle: 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera 3100

P1870 Transmission componenet slipping

You can have the transmission rebuilt or replaced, If the condition of the transmission is no too bad you can change the transmission fluid and transmission filter and add one quart transmission additive such as a Lucas transmission additive.
