Engine light came on after my parked truck was hit in the rear and insurance denies it is related

My vehicle was parked outside my house and a lady hit it and left me a note.  I would place my hand on the bible that the check engine light came on after this incident as I had been driving it daily because it has the most comfortable car seat for our baby and my wife was out of town.  Not on the truck fender and rear bumper where crushed under but when took it it progressive they basically said there is no way the engine light had just come on due to a rear end hit.  I need help because if there is a significant issue I am hosed because daycare is extremely expensive and we live pay check to pay check.  Please help...

Depends on what the CK ENG LT is , It can be related, When the repair are being made to the body of the vehicle, the CK ENG LT has to be gathered, if it is related it is repaired with the accident
