I think I got bad fuel while on vacation. Could be a coincidence but it started to run a little rough right afterwards. When I took it in to Nissan the check engine light went on. It seems to be running fine but the light is still on. Nissan wants to charge me $500 to replace the maf sensor and another $100 to retrain the idle. The first, not sure about; the second sounds bogus. Help??
Could this have anything to do with the engine air intake duct recall??

You should start by clearing the code and use a fuel injector cleaner can. If possible clean the air flow meter and clear the self learning.

Here are the instructions to Clear Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control Data procedure: http://nissanhelp.com/diy/murano/projects/nissan_murano_clear_self_learning.php

And here are the instructions for the Idle Air Volume Learning Procedure: http://nissanhelp.com/diy/murano/projects/nissan_murano_idle_air_volume_learning.php

You should do all that before replacing any parts.
