2002 ford explorer xlt 4 wheel dr.need to change the solenoid is it hard to change and do i have to have the computer re-programmed after its changed

The solenoid is no hard to change out , it come in a shift solenoid pack as one unit,  The solenoid pack is drop in and play type, there is no reprogram involved, but depends on how long you drove with this code being set, and being a 4wd after the repair you would notice a little bump going into second gear,
