Can I replace a broken valve on Jeep Wrangler fuel tank?

P0455 code for large evap system leak was found. Mechanic found the problem is "the valve that sits atop the fuel tank that has 3 hoses attached to it is broken." The shop (and dealership) says they can't just replace the valve - the entire fuel tank must be replaced. Is this correct? Seems like the valve and/or hoses replaced would be an easy fix.

Unfortunately the answer is to replace the fuel tank, there are a lot of complaint with the Jeep fuel tank with fuel spillage during refill , and a slow to fill problem.
