Nissan Frontier 2002 2.2L 4 cyl , turning off pending code

Question

The shop replaced the vacuum switch, erased all codes, and told me to drive the vehicle for 200 miles in order to get  the pending P0405 code to disappear before taking the vehicle to the SMOG test station here in Calif. After driving 240 miles the pending code is still there.  What is the process to clear this pending code?

Pending code condition mean there is a problem with that component, Pending mean the fault is not fully matured to turn the CK ENG LT on, and with a pending code the monitor will not set, To get rid of the pending code you need to repair the problem.
