2007 Atenza Wagon with engine code P2187

Looking for more information about P2187 code.
Our car was stalling, finding it hard to change gears and accelerate properly. The engine light is also on. When it has been out in the sun for long it becomes difficult to start but starts eventually. It will run good some days and some days it will not. Have been to see a few mechanics for advice. We were told it is a problem with the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR). However other mechanics seem sceptical about whether this is actually the problem and it could be something to do with an overbalance of oxygen and therefore an issue instead with an oxygen sensor.

I'm still yet to have this properly looked at and tested thoroughly so there has been no official diagnosis yet. Only just that the scanner is bringing up this code "Lean Bank 1 (Idle)" OR "Lean engine mixture"

Difficult to start with a lean code condition P2187, fuel pressure or fuel volume will set a lean condtion , the best approach is to test fuel pressure and its fuel volume .
