toyota 2004 rav4 have b2799. i have done P2799 can also appear when the e.c.u has been replaced. In this instance it is not necessary to see any trouble codes appear on the immo. In this case simply bridge pins 4 & 13 on the DLC. Key to position 2.(management and abs light will begin to flash) Make sure battery has sufficient power. Leave in this state for 35 min. Turn key off. Remove bridge. Rescan vehicle. At this stage the dtc should clear. Vehicle now ready to start. But no start.
Vehicle: Toyota rav4 2.0

Pin 13  on the DLC is manufactuer specific and is used for reprogram, using this method is not adviseable, plus on some DLC protocals this would be the wrong pin. B2799 is a open circuit from the key ECU to the ECM. , this is a failed connection at the key transnponder,
