The BRAKE, Slip, TCS off, and ABS lights are all lit at the same time on my 2007 Nissan Quest. I hear a faint whirring sound for about 3-4 seconds coming from the engine compartment when the lights come on. They don't stay on after I restart the car the way a check engine light would, but they will eventually go on again next time I drive. They come on while I'm idling in the driveway before I touch the brake or put the car in drive, or they can take 10-15 minutes of driving to come back on. There are no other symptoms that would indicate a problem. There is plenty of brake fluid and there is no trouble code coming up on my code reader, but it's a very basic code reader that doesn't read ABS. Any thoughts on what it could be? Or suggestions on a code reader?

The most affordable code reader for a ABS would be from the Launch which can gather ABS as well as Powertrain codes,  There is also the Autel, that has ABS reader, These are favorite in most shop due to the price. and free update . As for the way you describe the condition of your vehicle, check the charging system, If the charging system is overcharging (and it does happen) this would set a ABS code and no CK ENG LT. A good charging system would be 2 volts above battery voltage so at idle you should have 14.5 volts If the charging system is greater such as 15 to 16 volts replace the alternator. The reverse is also true if the system is not charging but below the acceptable charge rate.
