I'm having problems getting my 1999 HSE 4.6 Range Rover out of low gear. Every time I put it in high gear the msg "select neutral" appears and it will not convert back to high gear. In the past when I took my truck to the shop, I had a P1702- transfer box code on my truck. I was wondering if this has anything to do with problem that I am having.

P1702 Transfer box malfunction indicator lamp request

Yes this code does, The terrible cause for this code is the shifter motor tends to burn out, not only the motor but the transfer box ECU, Go at this slowly there are fuses that you need to check  located under the front passenger seat, use the cover for the map and location for the gear shift, motor
