What this code is is a short with the transmission range switch, , one of the test that you  can confirm there is a fault with the transmission range sensor is , have key on , engine off, observe your gear position indicator , and shift each gear position separately, If any indicator stays on with the  shift indicator when the shift lever is not at that gear  position  then , you have  a faulty shift gear switch
