what do i need to do to change out the sensor?

Question

I need to change the camshaft position sensor in my SUV.  it is easily accessible.  is there anything I need to do before installing the new one? ie, disconnect neg battery, etc.

This all depends on the engine size that you have if this is a 4 cylinder engine you just remove the electrical connector then the retaining bolt ,remove and replace and reinstall the electrical connector. clear the code and test drive, If this is a V8 or V6 this is different you would need to remove the intake manifold just to gain access to the camshaft position sensor.
