Found the car hard to start after sitting over the holiday.  Had plenty of starting power but seemed to lack fuel.  The service light came on intermittently.  I found when I key on and allow the pump to run, then start it it starts easy.  Fuel pressure regulator is suspected?

P1421 Cold start control

If you set a P1421 check the coolant temperature using a scan tool ,it should be at the specific outside temperature. The coolant temperature  sensor not being correct will cause a P1421 , as well as a plugged airfilter, if these area are good check the fuel pump area. As for a fuel pressure regulator that can cause the hard start but you would set a lean code condition. Since the fuel pump is under the rear seat check the fuel pump for any external leak or smell

The fuel pump has a tendency to crack from fatique check for any leaks
