p1518 says its starter switch CLOSED What do i do, replace?

Scanner says switch CLOSED. Do I replace.

Hi there,

This code can be caused by a faulty inhibitor switch or if the car is manual the clutch safety switch. If the car doesn't start then the starter circuit must be diagnosed to determine the cause of the problem.
