I got the engine code P1122 on my 2009 Nissan Qashqai

I had this code, and the mechanic opened the throttle black cover and put it back, did he damage it for ever?, he told me I have to buy a new one

The throttle body are common problems. He probably just removed the cover to verified that the throttle body was the problem, but there is a big chance that the throttle body was already damage.
